Great way to use space!!

The Hyloft Jr. is a great storage device!! We installed them over our garage door (We have 9ft ceilings) so we could use the empty space and have the storage "hidden" when the door is open. They work wonderfully!! We did have to install 2x2 boards lengthwise so that we could be sure to hit studs, but we were prepared for that when we made the purchase, so it was no big deal. I would highly recommend these to anyone!! They are a great way to free up floor space!!

Rating :

Very forgiving

I thought the instruction was good and easy to read and the installation itself was very forgiving.
Everything doesn't have to be perfect aligned and it can still be put together.
I think the toughest part of the install was finding the two studs within the allowed distance 24"~36".
Just like other reviewer has mentioned, the rack will wobble in one direction. It isn't really an issue though.

Surpassed Expectations

Our garage is on the low side, and this 36x36 unit works perfectly. We are a medium height lot(nobody over 5'8") and don't have to duck to walk underneath the Hyloft system (thought it's close, and sometimes we duck on instinct). We've stored so much stuff in ours, and had no idea that it would provide such a large space. The product is packaged well, the directions are just okay - though, honestly it wouldn't be that difficult to figure out without those. However, you do need a good socket wrench, drill and ability to use a measuring tape ...

Works for me!

I actually bought 3 of these things - this one in 3x3 size and also 2 larger ones. I put them up above my garage door about a year ago. Mostly I use them for things that I don't need very often like suitcases. They work just fine.

Installation is not for dummies, though. You need the right tools and a basic understanding of how your house is built. My garage has a truss roof covered with sheetrock so of course I needed a stud finder. Also, those trusses are designed to carry weight pressing down on them from above (the roof) not weight hanging from below, so the 150 lb capacity is a pretty good idea if you don't want to overload the trusses and bow your ceiling.

Working over your head is generally a pain, and I'd say the most useful tool to have here is a cordless drill with a socket attachment for driving those lag bolts.

Good, Simple Storage Solution

These things went up fairly easily, in about an hour for each as long as you know where all of your joist studs are located or have a really good stud finder. I wish they didn't sway quite so much after being installed, but they definitely hold up nicely to the weight that they say, and they feel rock-solid. For the price, these can't be beat, and with free shipping it is a lot easier than finding them at the local hardware store. A few clicks and a couple of days later I was drilling holes in my garage ceiling, and finally getting all of my clutter stored up and out of the way.

Golf bag holder

Product was simple to assemble and does what it's supposed to. I suggest you also buy the Rubbermaid basket as well to hold golf balls & misc. accessories.

Rating :

Strong and holds a lot!

Very strong, sleek design to make a gorgeous garage! It holds fully-loaded golf bags and a lot of other heavy things too with its multiple hooks. Very good engineering, great product.

Rating :

Awkward

You can hang your golf bag from this gadget, but it dangles diagnally, so you better be sure there's room on either side. The shoe hooks seem worthless to me.

Customer Review :

Delivers as advertised!

This is the best Fast Track product yet. It holds 4 regular rod and reels perfectly and snuggly. Very impressed, great quality, and priced just right. Highly recommended.

Rating :

Not so useful

I like my fasttrack system of shelves and hooks, but the specialized gadgets are a different matter. My fishing rod doesn't fit in this at all as the reel is too big for the space between the holes and the pads. Odd that for a system that touts flexibility they'd make such an inflexible gadget.

Rating :

Good quality rod rack with limitations

I found this module for the Rubbermaid Fast Track system to be good but with limitations. Overall quality of construction was excellent. This rod rack works well for reels up to medium capacity. For large capacity surfcasting spinning reels there isn't enough spacing between the circlular holders to accomodate more than one or two. Otherwise, this accessory is pretty darn good.

Rating :

Almost perfect.

I have the fasttrack system in the garage and need to store a decent amount of poles. I bought three of these.

I like the fact that I can take it off the track and use to transport the poles when we go fishing. It saves the poles from getting tied up during transport.

I dont have any problems with reels being to big, but it does take a little planning to get the poles on. (obvious after the first time)

Not a bad system, but not perfect. If you have the fasttrack system already, this is a good addition.

Rating :

The carry option is cool. Wish it held a bit tighter.

I'm generally fond of all of my Rubbermaid garage organization gear. It's on the pricey side, but looks good and has solid construction throughout. The fishing rack holds 4 decently sized rods and holds them decently. Some thinner rods are not gripped by the upper rubber-foam holders very well, so they sort of flop around some, especially if you use it to carry them. That, however, is the nice bonus feature I really hadn't counted on. Once you have your fishing rods loaded up, you can pull the whole thing off the wall using the handle and toss them in your vehicle in one go. That's a surprisingly convenient feature when poles otherwise get tangled.

I give it a 3.5 overall due to the fact that it's not great at actually holding all size rods firmly. I think it could probably hold another couple of poles if it was redesigned, too. Still, it does what it advertises, does it decently, and the handle feature is a nice bonus. I'm rounding up to 4 stars.

Versatile - wish I had two

I actually bought this to store scooters and helmets. It works great. I even have hopes the kids will now put away their things.

Rating :

Excellent for more than baseball bats

We bought the Rubbermaid Fast Track Garage Organizer set a few months ago and got it up in both the basement storage area and the garage itself upstairs. There were plenty of hooks for my husband's tools and ladders but I needed something for my cleaning supplies. Lo and behold I saw this baseball bat rack which looked like it might hold my swiffer and a couple other long handled cleaning tools. By golly, when I got this baseball bat rack it worked perfectly for my cleaning tools. If you have the fast track organizer, this add on is great. And it is much less expensive than some of the other add on holders for some reason.

Rating :

Not cheap, but works great!

The only reason I would give this item 4 stars instead of 5 is because of it's price tag. That being said it works great. We use it for tennis rackets and bats as well as baseball gloves. The entire Fast Track system is great and this is no exception!

Questions & Answers
Question : What do you think of "drive by wire" systems,?
where there is no physical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels? When this becomes mainstream will the computer that controls this system be powered by Microsoft? Uh-oh........

Answer:
In some areas of car mechanics, drive by wire is much better than purely mechanical systems. For examples, throttles can be managed much better by a computer than by a person giving better fuel economy etc. Similarly, brake systems managed by computer have given use all those wonderful acronyms, EBD, EBS, ABS etc.As far as steering goes, this is unlikely to down this route simply because it doesn't give the same level of "feel" as mechanical systems.Without even noticing most modern and even everyday cars are completely run by computer already. As far as Microsoft is concerned, they are about the machine/human interface and have so far tied up with Ford. I doubt very much they will get involved further than that particularly a very in depth specialist area.

Besides |pbteen| where can I find the cable wire systems for curtains.?

Answer:
Try this SILHOUETTE STD CABLE SYSTEM http://www.keeplookingbusy.com/itemDetails.aspx?id=B002EL1VAG

Question : Does the ground wire in car audio systems have to be as big as the power wire?
It seems like I see a lot of kits where the ground wire is smaller than the power wire. On the other hand, one of the "big 3" in car audio is beefing up the ground wire on your alternator.

Answer:
ground should be the biggest you can make it, a perfect ground is very crucial, many problems can result in not having a good enough ground or grounds. you should keep the ground 3ft long or LESS, not longer.

Question : what benefit a drive wire system can give to the engine?
a drive by wire system; the acceleration is being triggered by sensor and not by traditional cable.

Answer:
It allows the ECU to close the throttle when the traction control triggers or the abs senses a tire breaking free on loose gravel or icy conditions.

Question : Do home suround sound systems have speaker wire come with them? If not tell me what king I need?
Do home suround sound systems have speaker wire come with them? If not tell me what king I need?

Answer:
Hi. Whatever wire that comes with a complete system is usually thin and not good enough. Some people put their own wire together to save money as good cables don't come cheap. In general the thicker the diameter of the wire the better the sound particularly if the cable is very long. Some people argue you can't hear any difference between cables but i disagree. If you are unsure it is best to buy cables already made. Monster cable is very popular but there are alternatives.I have been using Van Den Hul speaker wire for 23 years and get excellent results. See what other brands they have in your area.Try to keep the length of the wire as short as possible between the amp and the speakers. to minimize signal loss.

Question : What Size Wire Gauge is used in a cars electrical system. Rats chewed some wires and now i need to reconnect?
I looked online and everyone is more worried about their AUDIO system wires which I have no issues with. But would like to reconnect these wires that were chewed in half. So any help would be appreciated

Answer:
It depends on what wires were chewed. The wire gauge can run from 12 to 18. Just get some heat shrink tubing and butt connectors that covers those sizes.

Question : The difference between star and delta wiring systems?
Can any one explain what the difference between star and delta wiring systems when used with motors. I have already looked at wiki which didn't really help. If you can find/have comparable drawings showing the circuit through the contactors that would be a bonus. TA VERY MUCH!

Answer:
Take a look at the attached reference.3-phase motors have three windings. On some motors, all six ends are brought out (2 ends per winding). On those motors, it is possible to connect the three windings such that they form a triangle shape (this is the DELTA configuration), or a radial shape that sort of looks like the letter Y (the WYE or STAR configuration). One then connects the three power leads from your 3-phase source to three points in those configurations. In some motors, the windings are already connected in delta or wye within the motor, and only three leads are brought out for connection of power.Regarding operating the motor, each winding is designed for the same fixed voltage. As long as that voltage is applied across each winding, the motor will perform properly, and the delta or wye configuration makes no difference. Where the configuration does make a difference is in the voltage that has to be supplied by the three power leads. For example, say you have a motor where all six ends of the three windings are brought out, and that each winding is designed to operate at 460V. If you connect the windings in delta, then the three power leads must supply 460V measured from line-to-line. If instead the three windings are connected in wye, then the three power leads would have to supply 460Vx3^(1/2)=797V measured from line-to-line in order for 460V to be placed across each winding. Now, 797V is not a standard voltage, so what the six leads really are used for is for "reduced-voltage" starting. Assume that you have a power system that will apply 460V to the motor when it is up to speed, so you want the motor to be configured in delta. Unfortunately, when you first connect 460V to a motor that isn't spinning, it pulls around 6 times the amount of current that it will once it is up to speed. Many utillities won't allow that heavy a current draw, so you have to limit the current during startup. One way to do that is to use a star-delta starter that first wires the six motor leads in wye (or star) and applies the 460V across it ( but does not apply 797V). Then each winding only sees 460Vx(460/797)=265V. At 265V per winding, the motor draws less current but starts to speed up from a stop. After awhile, the starter will rewire the six leads into the delta configuration, and apply the 460V to it. Each winding sees the full 460V. The motor will then speed up to full speed and power.Note: On a motor that has only three leads brought out, you don't need to know whether it is connected internally in delta or wye. The nameplate lists the voltage to apply to the three leads.Hope that helps.

Question : Why Speed of Wireless systems usually are less than wired Systems ?
the wave speed in wire is less than in the air , but Why Speed of Wireless systems usually are less than wired Systems ? like Wired LAN (100 Mpbs) and Wireless LAN (normally up to 54 Mpbs).

Answer:
The maximum speed of any communication link is based on the the bandwidth of the signal, and the signal to noise ratio. The coding scheme also affects the data rate, but the systems we are comparing both use schemes optimized for speed in there application and is unimportant in understanding the limitations of a wireless system.Wired systems have many advantages that allow them to have a higher data rate. First and foremost is the very low path loss. The level of the signal at the other end of the cable is much closer to the original than the signal at the receiving antenna in a wireless system. Several orders of magnitude greater when we talk about just 10s of meters of distance. This increases the signal to noise ratio signifigantly.Second is signal isolation. in a wired system signals in the air are not as big of a problem, the higher the frequency the more of a problem this becomes, but then you can switch to shielded cable (like in most Gigabit ethernet installations) which will help a lot. This also reduces the signal to noise ratio, but it also allows for a much wider bandwidth of the signal, because it is not transmitting, you don't need to worry about interference with other devices around you, so you are not limited in bandwidth.

Question : Have there been any reported issues with Honda's drive by wire systems?
I drive a '09 Civic and with all the issues related to drive by wire and braking by wire I'm concerned about it.

Answer:
Some - looks like the usual scattering of complaints. For example, NHTSA has 3 complaints of excessive idle (complaint 10311881) or runaway accelerator(complaint 10297572) or runaway cruise control (complaint 10247306) for 2009 Civics. The problem with any car I know of is nowhere near as big as the media are trying to make it out to be. Of the 7 complaints about the accelerator in 2009 Camrys, one is a duplicate of another and only three are particularly credible. The others are associated with accidents and the duplicated ones describe a rollover when the driver failed to slow fast enough for traffic ahead.
