This do-it-yourself system screw-mounts to your existing water faucet, and comes with everything you need for up to 200 gallons of crisp, clear water.

Customer Review :

very effective.

best fitting filter. no leaks. and operates very efficiently.
default is off. which is good. you dont want to waste filtered water while washing dishes.

Water doesnt taste as well as the Pur filters. but this fits way more reliably than the leaky Pur filters.
good product. This provides level 3 purification.
If only they had one with level 4 purification. that would have been wonderful.

Filter works well, just a bit slow

The filter comes with all manner of faucet attachment adapters, thankfully they had one to work on my archaic faucet.

After running cold water through it for 10 minutes as directed, the filter works great and the water tastes...filtered...which is what you're paying for.

As other reviewers have mentioned, it runs a bit slower than the Brita models but I've had two of those wear out on me. So be aware that patience is a requirement for owning this item, but reliability is its reward.

Easily the best

After our second Brita on-faucet filter broke, I decided to try another brand. After doing some research, we decided to give Culligan a try based on its Level 3 filter, compact size, and metal fittings. After a month of use, we're very satisfied.

Installation was very easy, since we'd already removed the aerator from our faucet. I feel MUCH more confident in the mounting, though, since the metal fittings sealed very nicely and seem sturdy - unlike Brita or Pur. The unit is also pretty compact, and it has a very handy auto-off function that automatically switches back to unfiltered water when the tap is turned off. Flavor is nice and clean after we let it run for the recommended 10 minutes the first time.

Two drawbacks I've noted, but neither is a deal-breaker:

1) Water flow is fairly slow, but not much slower than the Brita. I can fill a 16-ounce glass in 13 seconds, which isn't terrible, but if I'm filling a pot I usually walk away and do something else while it fills.
2) There's no indicator light to remind you when to replace the filter. I actually really liked that about the Brita, but everything else about this filter is so much better (including the price), that I'll stick with the Culligan. The filter comes with a little sticker to put on your calendar to remind you instead, which I ended up putting on my fridge.

Overall, I'll stick with Culligan from now on. Recommended!

So Far so Good

8/17/2010 Installed fairly easily. Came with adapters which I did use to install. The construction looks very durable, unlike some of the competitors like PUR(At the store the display model was already broken) and Brita. I also did research in reviews for other models, most reviews of the competition such as brita and PUR never really complained about the taste of the water, just mainly the products flimsiness and prone to breaking in a fairly short time (2 to 6 months for bad cases) average being 2 years. One recommendation for using any faucet filter after reading so many reviews don't use full pressure if you want it to last longer. I currently live in San Diego and the tap water is not the greatest. As per taste, its not bottled water but the filter makes the water just taste like nothing and there isn't much of an after taste that I can notice(both me and my roommate agree to this). That is pretty darn good for me. I wanted a faucet filter because it saves the hassle of filling jugs constantly and keeping it refrigerated. I don't like really cold water and for me tap water temperature is nice. It works nicely you turn the water on. pull on the nob tab out. Then the water flows through the filter, instead of having to push the tab back in. You can shut off the water and it will automatically go back in defaulting to the non filtering. I really like that system. I will do a follow up in 2 months as per how long the filter will perform.

can filter about 1 gallon per day

i don't know if the other reviewers are talking about the same filter, Culligan FM-15RA Level 3 Faucet Filter.
i bought 6 filters and a new one works for about 3 days, then the flow goes down to about 1 gallon in 12 hours or so.

pleased with culligan faucet filters

We have had the Culligan faucet filter system for years and are very satisfied with its performance. It is smaller in size than other filters, which we regard as a good feature.

Rating :

Filters work fine

The filters arrived immediately from Amazon and worked fine. We were pleased with the service.

Adaptor didn't fit.

The faucet filter was very easy to install once I went to the plumbing supply store and purchased the correct size adaptor. It comes with two, but they didn't fit my faucet. Other than that, it works fine.

Rating :

Do Not Buy More Than One At A Time

Buy one at a time, and not too far in advance. Filter works well, but Culligan only warrants for 30 days from date of purchase. If you buy several (as I did) and one is defective (spurting water all over kitchen!), no real way to obtain a replacement.

Fits Samsung refrigerators with a short round filter, and replaces the ""B"" model which was recently discontinued

Customer Review :

On performance alone...

.......I would rate this 5 stars. On price, I have to knock it down a couple of notches. I don't blame Amazon, they are still cheaper than the brick and mortar retailers, but Samsung should be ashamed! Eventually someone will knock this off with a quality product, not the knock off junk that is out there.

Looks well made and works. But VERY EXPENSIVE for what it is ! IThe profit margin on this must be enormous - a big rip off.

Not Bad

It fit properly and has performed for about a month so far without a leak. I'd give it five stars if it wasn't so ridiculously overpriced.

Samsung DA29-00003G Water Filter

Ordered to replace existing filter in refrigerator. Received promptly. Installed when refrigerator signaled previous filter was exhausted. Not difficult to install, but required considerable torque (by hand)to remove old filter. Biggest complaint is price. Have to pay $32 +or- every 6 months, which seems expensive for a simple water filter. I am looking for a cheaper solution. It seems to function OK, but who can tell without a lab test of the filtered water.

Editorial Review :

Quickly converts toilet into a water-saving dual flush toilet. Installs without tools in 5-10 minutes - tank removal not required. Quick flush for liquids and paper. Full flush for solids. Uses up to 70 percent less water with liquid and paper, works with all standard flush valves, eliminates flapper problems.

Customer Review :

Skeptical but so far so good

I recently bought this so am unsure of the longevity of the product, but it was fairly straight forward to install even with a ball float fill valve mechanism. There was room for the device in my 1.6 gpf toilet as the ball float is not directly over the flapper. The install took about 15 minutes and I didn't really adjust any of the settings. There is clearly a difference in water volume for the liquid only flush, so I suspect there will be some savings in water use. I am going to buy another one for another toilet that has an updated fill valve. I'm deducting one star for the somewhat cheap plastic feel (especially the button).

Rating :

Doesn't seal well.

I bought this at Costco, actually, for a few dollars less than here on Amazon. It installed pretty easily, but it wouldn't "seat" right with the valve, so after the bowl and tank filled after a flush, it leaked water down the drain pretty quickly, prompting the tank to refill after only 90 seconds. I followed the troubleshooting instructions and repeated the installation--several times!--but to no avail. I wasted a LOT of water installing and reinstalling this thing. Don't waste your time. I'm going to look into getting a better dual flush unit and possibly a better tank refill mechanism, but I wouldn't recommend this one.

Rating :

No-brainer if you need a new flush mechanism.

If your current toilet flushing system is broken/leaking, this is a no-brainer. Get it!

It's about the same price as the 'typical non-efficient' replacement system, yet it saves lots of water/money.

If you're replacing a working toilet just to make it more 'efficient', you'll need to consider the cost of the item and whether it will payback the cost in saved water considering the lifespan of this item.

For us, we have 4 toilets. We're replacing the 2 most-used ones on the first floor, and possibly the kids' bathroom upstairs. For the guest-bath upstairs, we probably won't since it's not leaking and it doesn't get used often (maybe a couple times per month), which doesn't warrant replacing it.

Rating :

Measure your toilet!

When I saw this unit on the home page I thought it was a great idea and a great price! I just about ordered one straight away, but I'm glad I double checked the item description. Be sure to measure your toilet. The flush opening was a deal breaker for me, there's no way this would work on our 4" flush opening toilet.

Customer Review :

Works great and installation was easy.

When we bought our house 25 years ago the disposer was there and pretty new(also a Waste King-1/2 hp.). It worked great until it was time to be replaced( it stopped working). Amazon offered another one for a terrifically low price with the same hp(horsepower). But we opted to buy the Waste King l-8000 legend series 1hp continuous Feed Operation Waste Disposer because of our larger family. The installation was done by a licensed plumber who charged us $60.00 per hour and it only took him an hour from unpacking the unit to total cleanup. So far the unit works great and is very quiet in operation. When we bought the unit it cost $125.00 including shipping and handling from Amazon.com. We are extremely pleased. That's why we gave it 5 stars.

Rating :

Just works

It was easy to install, it is relatively quiet, and while I can't say we've really tried to put the thing through its paces, so far, we've had no problems with it whatever.

I would definitely buy this model again.

Rating :

Couldn't be easier

We were very pleased with our order and the very fast processing and shipping. The install was easy and the install documentation was very thorough and well done. The easy mount system was just that. From beginning to end the install only took my handy husband less than 1 hour. It comes with a power cord installed but it can be easily removed and direct wired if that is what you already have. The unit is quiet and very powerful.

Had trouble with cushion mount, but then went smoothly.

I have put this off as a bad purchase and it was just sitting in my closet for months due to the original box being destroyed and thrown away and hence not being able to return.

First, I received this through "Waste King Direct", which I"m learning is an incompetent and shady company. That explains why I didn't receive any literature/manuals for this product. Second, I'm having a heck of a time trying to install the "cushion mount" rubber seal onto the flange in order to mount the garbage disposal. The "cushion mount" seems to be too big and it won't all for the disposal to mount. Not enough clearance for the "tab" to be inserted and turned into the groove to be properly secured. But, problem solved, and edited.

Over a very decent disposal, except for the flimsy - cheap - plastic enclosure....

My new Wate King 8000

After reading reviews here I changed my mind from the Disposal I had planned to buy and purchased the Waste King. The life time warranty sounded like icing on the cake. I bought direct from Waste king. The purchase was painless and the shipping and handling was great. I would recommend them to anyone. I'm like some others whose reviews I read and was surprised it was housed in plastic but so is most other products now days. Installation using the easy connection method instead of the 3 bolt method went smoothly with all my plumbing fitting up to it only requiring me to mount a receptical on the end of the electrical wire since this disposal has a plug on the cord. I haven't used it long enough to recommend it's operation but will update after some time in use. it is a little loud but not as loud as my old one that was much smaller. I told my wife to run some soapy water through it to see if it helps like some said. trasher1940@gmail.com

Questions & Answers
Question : +++ Plumbing +++?
My Toilet keeps on getting cloged up.. I have to plunger it at least 4 times a day. What can I do? Should I call a plumber or should I call my landlord to fix this or is there a way to fix it myself? It doesn't overflow but it is backed up and after plungering the water goes down but it's becoming a pain to unclog it everyday!

Answer:
it needs to be augered. there is probably something stuck in it. things get stuck in trap in toilet and plunging does not always fix the problem, an auger is a snake made for the toilet and very simple to use. you can purchase one at most hardware stores .

Question : What is the simple way to get plumbing permit on my garage?
I added 3 plumbing fixtures to my garage without permit but didn't finish yet. I need to sell my house so I would like to stop working on plumbing and get the inspection. Can I just cap the pipes? Or do I need to remove pipes from the garage? Or Do I have to remove all pipes from the basement I installed?

Answer:
just apply for it & will get

Question : Is hot water plumbing connected to the toilet plumbing?
I have a problem. I always flush my cig butts down the toilet and now there is a plumbing problem in my apt building. They will be turning off the hot water for repairs. Will It get traced back to me?

Answer:
Only cold water it routed to the toilet. Flushing drains the water to the sewage pipe. Hot or cold bears nothing to this, its all sewage.

Question : How to get started in the plumbing field?
How does an individual get started in the field of plumbing? Does one need to get enrolled in a trade school first? Or do plumbing companies offer apprenticeship programs? How often is it that a company will hire someone without experience and train them?

Answer:
hi Aaron, one way is to look for a local union by where you live. they would normally have an apprenticeship program. the one i went to was for 5yrs 2 nights a week for 4 hours while working in the trade. they prepare you for your state exam. but if you don't want to do the apprenticeship . you can find out with building codes compliance office what are requirements for plumbers license where you live, some states are different. where i live you show proof of 3 yrs working in the trade and you can take the exam. now the exam is no cake walk. let me tell you that with the program you learn more because you have people teaching you at work and at school.in the other hand the other way could be a faster way of getting your license.and by the way you find out the dates and or schedules of upcoming test with the code compliance office in your area that's where you would pay for your test.

Question : How can we access plumbing in floor if we tile the floor?
We have a house that was built in 1900s and a bedroom was made into the bathroom. The plumbing is in the floor. Plywood was screwed around the plumbing as an access door and then carpet was placed over it - of course the carpet got moldy after many, many years. Now we want to place ceramic tile in the bathroom - how can we still get access to the plumbing easily if something goes wrong and there is tile there? I want to think you can do a tile an access panel that can be removable but would it leak if it got wet? Help!

Answer:
If your not happy with the answers you got, you might want to try this.... they now make a laminate floor that looks a lot like tile you could leave the screwed down plywood and go over it with the laminate. then if you have to get to it just remove the molding and threshold piece and the laminate (as long as you don't glue it) will lift out one piece at a time from the last piece installed in. (you might want to buy the type with the foam backing so that will come up with the floor)

Question : How difficult is it to get electricity and plumbing for a backyard pond that is 33 feet away from the house?
According to my previous research about ponds, I will need an electricity and plumbing source for a pump in a pond. I would like my pond to be around 100 gallons maximum. So how difficult is it to bring electricity and plumbing to my desired location?Thanks-- any help will work!

Answer:
I have 2 ponds, both over 100 gallons, 40' from my house, and the only plumbing I have ever needed is in my outside water faucet, with my hose attached. If you want electricity, I paid a handy man $300. He dug the trench, laid the conduit, wired the box and tapped into my household circuit.

Question : How much does plumbing cost to start a Yogurt shop?
I am starting a Yogurt Shop like Pinkberry. I am planning to lease a 800 sq ft space. The space was a previously a office, a rectangular layout. It does have a bathroom in the back, what would be the rough amount of cost to get the adequate plumbing in there?

Answer:
You would really have to contact a commercial plumber for this.

Question : How to work on plumbing and electrical in a non basement house ?
I am a pretty good DIY plumber and an okay DIY electrician. However, in every home where I had to do the work always had a basement or crawl space. I am getting ready to buy a house without either and my question is:How do you access the plumbing and electrical if you can't get to it from the basement. I know it's in the walls and I will probably have to cut sheet rock to get to it. But I guess what I'm really asking is how do you detect where the exact problem is? Whether it be a leaky pipe or running an extra outlet.I guess I will have to access wiring from the attic but still not sure about plumbing.Thanks.

Answer:
There are meters to help you figure out which wire from your panel box is "dead", ask at the home improvement store which will work with your needs. Also, There may be major leaks (if the house is on a solid concrete floor) that requires a professional. However, a standard stud-finder will help locate pipes in the walls, or if you have the old galvanized pipes, try a magnet. Also, before you buy the house, have a professional inspection done so if there are leaks or electric problems that propose a fire hazard, you will have a heads up on them and may be able to negotiate a lower buying price to compensate for the cost of repairs.

Question : How do I convert bathroom plumbing from a single sink to a double sink?
Do I need to go behind the drywall to change out the plumbing or can it be done outside of the wall?

Answer:
Everything can be done in the cabinet of the new vanity as long as there is enough room. It will require a little ingenuity on your part. I would use braided steel flexible supply lines. You'll need measurements, but here you go. Get two short ones 3/8 x 3/8, hook this to the supply stop valve and then to a 3/8 compression tee, then hook your longer supply lines to the tee and then to the faucet these will be 3/8 x 1/2. For the drain you'll need some kitchen drain parts to make it work. You'll need (all this is 1 1/2" tubular-compression unions) two p-traps, a tee fitting and probably some extension tubes. Good luck. Contact me directly if you need further assistance.
