Rayovac's SE3DLN has an energy efficient LED that never needs to be replaced. With an EZ find light, a tent hook, and water resistant finish, there is no reason to go on your next camping trip with out it. Features 3 light modes: high, low, and strobe. 150 hour battery life. Carrying high power LEDs, machined from aircraft grade aluminum, and sporting a high end attitude, this light is Xtreme.

Customer Review :

Lots of light in a small package

This is perfect for the tent or, in my case, the tent trailer. I like the fact that this light is compact, which means it can fit in our camping gear box with ease, uses D batteries for extremely long battery life and has 2 settings. The lower setting is slightly less bright than the higher, yet double the battery life. In addition to the handle, there's a hook on the underside, which is what I used to hang it from a support bar within the trailer.

To sum it up, this light is bright, compact and has long battery life. I was using a 4d Coleman florescent, but that's now going to be set aside for this unit.

Excellent Light

This is a great emergency lantern. I was impressed with how much it lights up a room. The lantern also feels pretty solid for only $25. I still wouldn't want to drop it since the light housing could break. As with other reviewers I feel the green blinking light is useless. Its not annoying to me nor am I worried about it draining power, it simply isn't bright enough to do any good. Also, there were some complaints about the battery installation. I can't really say I had much of a problem with putting the batteries in. It did take me a few seconds to figure it out, but it is simple. There were arrows indicating where to place the bottom piece. Even if the arrows are not there you can see the proper orientation since it will only go in one way. I am sure they still could have come up with something easier. but it wasn't a problem for me. Overall, these are great to have around the house for when the power goes out. For the price I am impressed.

outstanding

Small lantern that puts out the light. Good white light that makes the dark run and hide. Excellent for power outages, have used several times and still on the same battery. My 8 year old had the battery compartment figured out before I got the second lantern package open. Overall these are outstanding.

Perfect

I purchased this for my camping trip to the Smokies and I love it! It is very bright, even on the low setting. The strobe is very annoying, but will definitely serve its purpose in attracting attention in a time of need! This is the best lantern out there for the money, in my opinion. You will not regret the purchase.

I will, like others have, suggest that you remove the batteries for storage. The flashing green LED on the front will drain your batteries after a while.

Negative point for parasitic battery drain.

The energy drain from the green LED which flashes 24/7 is not insignificant. I have a River Rock LED lantern which uses three AA cells, and also has the flashing green LED 24/7. After a couple months, there is very little energy left in the cells when I go to use the lantern. The duration will be longer in a three-D cell lantern, of course, as D-cells hold 3-4 times the energy as AA cells. But the point is, most people probably store an emergency lantern with the cells in it, ready for use. And when you go to use those cells you paid good money for, you don't expect them to be drained for no good reason. One poster mentioned that he deemed the parasitic drain was insignificant because he stored his lantern a year, and when he turned it on, it lit up. Big deal. You can spend $30 to fill up your car with gas, then store it a month with a small leak in the gas tank which drips every few seconds. A month later you go to start your car and, guess what, it starts and revs great. But that doesn't change the fact that there's only a gallon of gas left in the tank thanks to the LED, er ... leak. The flashing green LED is a pointless design with no redeeming value.

What's it to be... The Original or the Flare?

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RG1CKACKCQUXG As with the original, this light comes with Joby's bendable legs and magnetic feet. You can stand the light up and aim it anywhere, wrap the legs around post, poles, and pipes for where there's no place to stand it, and stick it to anything to which a magnet will stick. Bottom line is you'll be hard pressed to find a situation where you couldn't find a place to set the light and have it illuminate what you want.

The question is, do you want this one or the original (Joby Gorilla torch Adjustable and Flexible Tripod Flashlight, Gray)? The difference isn't really in the price, $35 vs $30. It's not in the amount of light (as you'll see). The choice is based on the kind of light you need.

It's not clear from the description but this light has six settings (seven if you count "off"). Those settings are:

- White light low
- White light medium
- White light high
- White high and blinking
- Red light
- Red light blinking
- Off

You cycle through the settings by repeatedly pressing a button. When you get to the one you want you stop pressing. A nice feature of this light (not mentioned in the instructions) is if you hold the button down for a few seconds it will turn off and the next time you turn it on it will start at whatever setting it and been in.

If you plan on using this as a work light then I'd image the only one your interested in is the high white light setting. (BTW, the white light is actually a tad blue and that's not uncommon with LED lights.)

The light output is a fairly bright, fairly wide circle. One of the main issues many reviewers and owners of the original light had was that the beam was too narrow. One extremely helpful reviewer suggested using a piece of Glad Press 'n Seal to act as a diffuser. That spreads the bright part of the beam out a bit but nowhere as much as this light. However, with the original light with it's narrower beam, even though it's not rated for as many lumens, results is a brighter light at the center.

So, which light is better? Well, it depends. If you need a very bright beam that's fairly tightly focused then I suggest the original. If you need a wider beam of light, something that provides a more than adequate amount of light over a wider area then you might prefer this one. It's like the difference between a spot light and a flood light.

Other notes... the description is somewhat cryptic about the LEDs. There are four of them, one is the high-power white Cree and the other three are red lights. Also, I really wish there was some way to have this light just cycle between off and the high white setting. I can see using the other options if I was camping or on a SWAT team. However, to work on a car engine or just about anything else I'm likely to encounter high will do just fine.

The bottom line: this is an excellent light and about as versatile as any I've seen. FWIW, at least for the time being, this light will be replacing the original in my tool bag. I'll keep the original on hand for the times when I need that very bright spot light.

Editorial Review :

This amazing compact flashlight is like a spotlight you can carry in your pocket or purse! NINE light-emitting-diode (LED) bulbs produce a flood of pure, white brilliance but because LED bulbs produce very little heat, three inexpensive AAA batteries will last for over 20 hours continuous. Positive-action switch (click on/click off) won't go on accidently in car, toolbox or pocket. Heavy-weight anodized aluminum barrel is corrosion- and water-resistant, textured for sure grip even when wet.

Customer Review :

It works fine

I can't understand why people leave such low reviews for this product. It's a great flashlight for under $10.00. I actually ordered this for two reasons, I had a broken flashlight and I needed an inexpensive item to meet the $25.00 free shipping qualification. The flashlight I was replacing was an $80.00 Smith and Wesson. This flashlight broke on me; I only had it for about 2 years. I wasn't planning on such an inexpensive flashlight to replace my previous one strictly because of the price. I do a lot of camping so naturally I like to spend a more money on the quality brand names for my hobbies. I was down a flashlight and needed to qualify for the free shipping so I bought this planning on keeping it in my glove box and going to the store to buy another expensive flashlight. I wasn't expecting much out of this, so when it came in the mail my expectations were low. After I opened it and gave it the once over, it worked fine. It has a nice bright 9 led light, decent durable frame, light, and compact. The illumination was about the same as my more expensive broken flashlight. Surprisingly, I didn't see a point to go out and buying another expensive flashlight, this one will temporarily replace my old one with no problem. The expensive flashlight I had lasted about 2 years which was less than expected. The on/off switch stopped working. I am not expecting this flashlight to last forever, if it lasts one season then I got my $5.00 worth. So far, I had it about a month and its holding up just fine. I am pretty rough with this stuff too, it gets tossed around. The bottom line is if you're looking for a high quality durable heavy flashlight, this isn't your item, you need to go out and spend the money on a somewhat expensive reputable product. If you're looking for a quick fix like I was or something as a back up to leave in your glove box as a just in case kind of thing then this will work out for you. If you use it aggressively and it lasts 6 months, you still got your $5.00 worth. You can't purchase this and expect your going to get the highest quality light. There is an old saying "you get what you pay for", this review is based on a $5.00 flashlight not an $80.00 one. I would have given it a one star and returned it if I paid $80.00. I don't expect to buy a KIA and get a Mercedes just like I don't expect to buy a Mercedes and get a KIA. Having said that, it is what it is and good for the price.

You may as well go throw $5 in your trash can right now

You may as well go throw $5 in your trash can right now - and at least save yourself the frustration of finding out for yourself that this flashlight is a total waste of time and money. I have purchased at least three of these from Amazon for kid's birthday's etc. They all have the same problem - they are completely unreliable. I have tried every 'fix' suggested by other users to no avail. If you want a flashlight that goes off and on (mostly off) when you really need it to be available, then this is your flashlight. Otherwise there are better flashlights to be found for under $10. Try the RAYOVAC models - they have been very reliable for the kids.

overall good

Bought 3 of these flashlights in different colors. One of the units, the cool blue one, first started showing intermittent lighting, then died. After pushing on the glass face of the flashlight, the light came back on, but soon went away. After a few more tries pushing on the glass face, the light came back on, hopefully to stay. To ensure that it stays operational, I've added superglue to make sure the glass does not shift out the millimeter or two that seems to kill the flashlight. Still decided to give it 4 stars because for the price it does give out decent light to use on camping trips, and battery life has been good though I have not timed it. Also, to be fair, it did take some abuse from my son, and I don't really expect a low priced flashlight to handle too much abuse.

Neiko flashlight- good quality

I have never had luck with the cheap flashlights. They work out of the box but then go bad later. I wanted a reliable, durable, easy-to-carry, compact flashlight with a bright-enough light and this did the job. I know other customers had problems with the build, but my flashlight never failed on me and I didn't even have to use the back-up batteries I took with me. Its good enough for me at least. I dont think you will regret buying one. I went on a 2 day rock climbing trip and, believe me, I used this flashlight many a times while navigationg through the woods and rocks to what needed to be done. Definitely not the most powerful light out there, but I wasn't really looking for a floodlight and besides, the batter lasts longer when its not overly demanding/bright..

Can't Get Better!

Okay, so I was in the garage to check something out with the light, I put it down on the trunk and forgot about it.... Got in the car, backed up, heard a light clunk noise on the driveway... RAN OVER THE FLASHLIGHT WITH THE CAR. Crazy part? Dented, but IT STILL WORKS! What else can I tell you? BUY the dang thing!!! (I bought several).

Fantastic multi-use light

I'm a big fan of flashlights (what guy isn't?) and this one gets top marks for versatility. You can put it in the pen loop of most backpacks and bags, so it's always handy. I have a couple of these lights, one in each bag I carry regularly, and I use them often because they're right at hand. My high-dollar Surefire lights, on the other hand, are usually at home when I'm dressed for business.

Quality is top-notch. The barrel is metal and very durable. The switch can be used for either momentary light or click on/off. (It baffles me that many lights don't have proper switches that allow for momentary use.) It takes normal batteries, the LED will last forever... what's not to like?

Brightness is above-par given the size of the light. It's not a tactical light, but it's still plenty of light for most any utility work. Beam is even, no dark spots. Color temperature is on the cool side (typical for LEDs), I'd estimate 6,500K.

Overall, for an "always on you" light, this is the one. Leave your mini-mags in the car or toolbox. For a tactical light stick with the 6V lithium, 100+ lumen Surefires and similar.

Amazing Light!!!

I have already purchased 2 of these lights. The batteries seem to last forever, and it is extremely bright. This light is small enough to carry in your shirt pocket like an ink pen, but has the brightness of a full size flashlight. I carry one in my car for emergencies. Highly recommended!!!!

Easy no-frills opener

This opener is as simple as it gets and has only ONE button to open/close ONE garage door - if you need to control more than one door look for other models. It literally takes seconds to program. Just make sure your opener is compatible with SECURITY+ systems, which operate at 315 MHz (purple learn button and purple antenna). This opener has good range and will open my garage door from over a block down the street. I highly recommend this opener if you just need to control a single garage door.

I recently built a new garage and the contractor installed this Chamberlain Pro garage door opener. When I tried to find an additional remote, I discovered that I would have to find a local vendor, so I checked Amazon. I found the door opener for less than half the retail price and the reviews were very good. I ordered mine, Free Shipping, and they arrived within a week. They work great, it took less than 5 minutes to program both and the range is great. I highly recommend this item and this vendor.

Question : hardware??
how do u add hardware without using the windows xp pro disk?? PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!! I ASKED LIKE 2 times ALREADY AND STILL NO ANSWERR!!USB drivers for muvo mp3 player!!

Answer:
1. Plug in the hardware.2. Install the drivers that came with the hardware. If you do not have a disk with the drivers, you can usually download them from the manufacturer's site.

Question : What are my hardware options with pro tools m powered?
I am planning to buy pro tools m-powered and am not really interested in the m-box interface. What I want to do is get a mixer with firewire and just plug it in directly to my macbook pro. Do I have to get the m-box or can I just use the instrument inpts and xlr plugs on the mixer? Basically, what are some other compatible mixers or core hardware for m-powered?

Answer:
You are getting the Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-powered confused. Pro Tools LE comes with any of the M-box interfaces. Whereas Pro Tools M-powered is a separate software that you can purchase in order to run Pro Tools with M-Audio audio interfaces such as these:http://www.zzounds.com/a--925404/cat--M-Audio-Audio-Interfaces--3217You are on the right track though. You can only use Pro Tools with Pro Tools hardware (HD and LE). The only exception is the recent introduction of Pro Tool M-powered where you can use PT with M-audio audio interfaces. The LE and M-powered softwares are in general the same (both LITE version of PT HD). Hope this helps.

Question : What kind of hardware would best suit this kitchen?
Ok, Im remodeling my kitchen and am planning on doing a sage green for the walls with cream white trim and soft yellow accents. Neutral light colored tile. The cabinets are currently white and will probly be painted to match trim. Hardware for cabinets?

Answer:
I would opt for a plain, simple knob in brushed nickel or a dull silver finish. I wouldn't go fancy or trendy, for the hardware may be outdated at some point. You want the focus to be on the wall and accent colors and the fresh creamy cabinets. One's eye should not go first to the hardware unless it's a ultra modern kitchen with extra tall cabinets that could carry a big handle of some sort.Stick with simple and classic.

Question : Where can I find hardware to anchor my bookcases to the wall for safety?
I have 2 (tall and narrow yet very heavy) bookcases just moved to an area with extra thick carpet padding. They easily tilt back and forth with ease. I need to anchor them to the wall but how? I take it that I will need to screw conecting hardware in to the wall and bookshelves, but I do not know how to and with what hardware. Please help I do not want my kids and/or pets to get crushed accidentally!

Answer:
If you can attach them to studs within the walls, lag screws and washers will work best. If you can not attach to the studs you will need to use a molly bolt. Lowes has the best selection for different wall and application types.

Question : When buying new hardware for a linux system, should I only pick hardware that has linux drivers?
I am new to linux. I want to construct a new computer that will operate linux. Should I only choose hardware (like a TV tuner card or a sound card) for which there are already linux drivers or are there always workarounds for getting every piece of hardware working on linux even if there are no drivers? Are these workarounds easy to implement or will I spend a lot of time and effort trying to get the hardware to work?

Answer:
Naturally the easier path is to buy/use components that have linux drivers readily available. If the component maker doesn't provide the driver a linux supporter will try to reverse engineer the driver. These drivers are not always available until a good period of time after the component is released, and the quality of these drivers vary a lot. Early versions of these drivers do not generally lead to a stable system.THe people who like to use components that don't have linux drives are those who want to learn the inner workings of linux and even want to learn how to write the drivers. There are workarounds when you do not have a linux driver but they vary in their success and stability. If you want a stable system that is easy to setup and maintain and update you best bet is to use as many components as possible that have good linux drivers. If you google for a component plus linux drivers you should get a good idea of whether linux drivers are available. e.g. Creative audigy 2 z +linux drivers.More and more manufacturers are coming on board and providing linux drivers. Many linux users complain to the manufacturers if they do not provide linux drives. Here are some links that list components and linux drivers.Good luck

Question : What hardware do I need to convert video tapes to an editable digital format?
I'd like to get some old videos onto the computer before the camera that can play them conks out. What hardware do I need to connect the video out to the USB in on the computer?(I've seen products that purport to go straight from video tape to DVDs, but I'd like a chance to edit before burning DVDs.)

Answer:
You need a special video capture card to convert the analog signal from your old tapes to digital. They make cards that connect to your USB but I do not recommend using them because the quality will not be very good. The transfer rate with USB is too slow to keep up with the real time capture of video unless you are captuing at a really low quality. I suggest adding a firewire port to your computer or a build in video card.Another option is to use a tape conversion service. StashSpace.Com transfers your tapes for you and has an editor so you can make customizations. You can also get your digital files back on a portable hard drive. http://www.stashspace.com
