Kenmore Refrigerator Water Filter
Ordered this item expecting delivery in 5 to 7 days. Was extreemly pleased when the filter I ordered arrived in 3 days. WOW, Great service and customer service...Ordering this filter from Amazon saved me over 54% over buying the filter directly from Sears where I purchased the Refrigerator...

replacement water filter
This is a pretty good filter. It installed easily in my KitchenAid Refrigerator and water quality is great. Although pricey but a much better option than bottled water.
Thanks.

Refrig. Filter
This model filter does a better job filtering the bad taste out of our local city water. Only will use this model filter because of that.

It should not take this long to ship an item that should be available off the shelf. It is ridiculous that I am not allowed to even cancel the order and get the product some place else.

Questionable life cycle
This package is definitely a lot cheaper than the ones from Sears, who makes a living by charging ridiculous prices to unsuspecting customers, of which I had been one of them, paying twice for a couple of years. However I find the specification of this package as lacking some capabilities of the Sears model. Not sure if this is a marketing requirement by Sears or there is really a difference. I have no problem with the water quality, though I have not experienced the thrill other reviewed have demonstrated.
I live in Chicago, one of the best water sources in the nation from Lake Michigan. But my refrigerator signals me to change filter only after 3 months of usage. This really makes me feel suspicious if the 6 month manufacturer recommended usage period is an exaggeration of what the filter can really manage.

Pur filter for my Kenmore Elite fridge
Works great - totally plug-and-play. This is labeled as a Whirlpool filter but it will work with Kenmore Elite and other Kenmore appliances that use the PUR system. As you know Sears and most places sell these for at least 50.00 so this is a great value. I chose this one over the PUR-branded filter because of another review I read. Evidently according to the label this one filters out more "stuff" than the standard filter. This is a great buy.

IT FITS!
On reading previous reviews, it fits in my Kenmore. Sears wanted $80 for one. I got two for less. Awesone. Expect a bit of sputtering and weird taste for a bit when first installed. (Run the water until it tastes good or dump that new made ice.) Then it works great.

Pur Filter - Works for Kenmore refrigerator
If you are searching for the Pur filter for your Kenmore Elite refrigerator, buy it here. Sears sells this filter under the Kenmore name - 1 filter for $54 !!!! Save your money and buy this 2-pack. It works perfectly in our Kenmore refrigerator - it is exactly the same filter that we replaced, it just says Whirpool instead of Kenmore.

Great value.
Almost half the price of Sears. Great value and free shipping! I will be purchasing these again.

Side By Side Water Filter, Used For Whirlpool Side By Side Refrigerators With Turn Access Through The Front Base Grille, Reduces Chlorine Taste & Odor, Particulates, Lead, Mercury & More, Retains Beneficial Fluoride, NSF Certified, Replace Your Filter Every 6 Months.
Customer Review :
Best price around
The price for these filters is the lowest I have found for the exact name brand, and I have looked both locally and online. I have cause to buy alot of water filters (for rental properties). This is a great deal, especially the two pack. And for those who have trouble getting the right size filter, it is easy if you just search online for your model number (mounted on a plate in your fridge). That or a fridge filter website makes it very simple.

Great buy !!
After seeing the price at the manufactures site, I decided to hunt around and I'm glad I did. Saving over $17 on the exact same product is always a pleasure.

Questions & Answers
Question : which is most cheapest and efficient solar panel to generate electricity?
I am looking to purchase very good solar panel to generate electricity, please tell me about the best and cheapest and where it is available to buy including the accessories to light and run the electric heater or stove and a refrigerator.
Answer:
Best/most efficient and cheapest are never the same.cheap means making compromises on performance, reliability etc. Using electric for heating is very wastefull, and nothing short of an industrial sized photovoltaic instalation will be able to deliver the power reqiured for a typical 2-3kW electric heater or stove. 6m2 of most efficient/expensive pv would produce enough for a hairdryer in good conditions. plus most heating demand is at night, so large battery needed. Better to use solar thermal design and heat stores. Even a fridge/heat pump has high start up currents that would need careful design and a large battery to deliver.

Question : What should I do about my roommate's annoying girlfriend? Please, please help!!!?
I moved in with a friend of mine a few months ago. When he proposed the idea to move in, it seemed like a good idea that would benefit the both of us. Since then he has started seeing a girl who stays over all the time. ALL THE TIME, even when he's at work. The best way to give you the whole story is to break it down:1) I no longer carpool with him because he drives her to work, adding an hour and 20 minutes to my commute. In the odd occasion I do carpool with them, I immediately get the backseat, filled with garbage and clothes, and feel completely like a third wheel as they play loud music and speak softly to each other so I can't hear.2) I can't use the bathroom, because she is always in there, either showering or doing whatever it is she does.3) I keep all of my bathroom toiletries (toothbrush, shampoo, razor, soap, towels, feminine products, etc.) in my room because all of the shelves and shower caddies are filled with her stuff.4) They go grocery shopping and cook, only for them, and fill the refrigerator with the dirty pots filled with leftovers they never eat. They also push my food to the back of the fridge and sometimes help themselves to my food.5) They leave the dishes in the sink for days. In fact they recently went away together and left the sink full.6) She seldom talks to me when we are alone at home, but when he comes home she is extraordinarily loud. Recently, they came home together and started play-fighting loudly, she tried to "get back at him" by splashing the water from a water bottle at him and hit me. Another instance, I came out of my room to find the two of them play-fighting in the living room, covered in whipped cream, with the floor and furniture to match.7) She does not pay any bills, but leaves all the lights on and plays music and watches tv all day. 8) Our rooms are at opposite ends of the apartment, and her laughs, screams, and utterances during sex, wake me up, even when both of our doors are closed.9) I can't cook because she's preparing food for her and my roommate. She takes up all of the oven ranges and the kitchen table.10) They bought plants and put them outside my room, which lately, has been attracting insects. 11) She never goes out with friends and her whole life revolves around him. She "lives" with her parents and from what I see, hasn't seen her parents in months.12) She changed all the furnishings, and bathroom accessories, leaving no room for my things, and making me feel like I have no say in the apartment.13) The only time they are home and quiet is when they are whispering to each other. For example, one time they decided to sit outside by my window, which was open, and whispered to each other complaining about me and why I don't walk his dog, who has been walked once since I moved in.14) After I washed my mug one day, (because I wash my dirty dishes) she took it, put it on his desk and put his pens in it. 15) They are always in the living room and ask me to "give them privacy", making me uncomfortable to leave my room, even if to go to the bathroom.16) My clothes, unless they are on my person, are only in my room- as are my shoes, bags, school books, computer. She feels free to leave her purses, computer, shoes, clothes, nail polish, papers, even her mail (sent to both my apartment and her parent's apartment [get this, because we work together my roommate told me I shouldn't get my mail sent to my apartment, so I have to get my mail from my ex's house, a huge inconvenience, but yet she gets all the mail she wants there and she works with us too!])17) I took the day off from work once because I had the flu, she decided, as he was at work, that it would be a good time to put up some pictures, so as I'm trying to sleep, my lullaby is her hammering against my walls. She stopped for 10 minutes and I managed to fall asleep, but I was woken up by her coming into my room and asking to borrow my screwdriver.18) Speaking of putting up pictures, one day they were play-fighting in the living room (you can always tell because there is usually some laughter, a whiney "OW-WAH! Babyyyy....", a small crash, and a "playful" scream) which backs to my room, and their actions actually made one of my paintings fall off of the wall and onto my bed.19) She also decided to put christmas lights in the front of the house, to have year-round (it's May now...), which beams light into my bedroom, as supplied by the electric company that I pay for and that she does not.20) As I mentioned before, I don't rely on carpooling with them. Here's why: (a) when I was carpooling with her, as a favor to my roommate, she decided to stay late at work. I waited for her for a total of 4 hours. However, when we had agreed to carpool one day, they decided to leave work early together, and not tell me. (b) Another day, I got up extra early, to shower, make Apparently my rant got cut off, I am looking for a new place, but until I find one that fits my budget, what can I do?

Answer:
Personal contact information should go first, at the top, centered. With all your contact phone numbers. Do not put your social security number on the resume.A vague objective like that will not help you and it is too wordy without saying anything concrete.Simply state "OBJECTIVE: to gain an entry level position as (whatever you are applying for.) "You should not put that you are "willing to learn" or that you are potentially a good employee or that you will "enhance" the organization. That isn't something that belongs on a resume. Even though you have limited experience, you still have the objective of trying to get a foot in the door, so that's all you need to say. Education should come next. You do not have to list elementary school, and if you have not attended college, you only need to list that you are a high school graduate and the year you graduated, (and whether you graduated with honors.) Like this: EDUCATION -- Graduated with honors from Example High School, 1984.Work experience comes next. Start with your present job and work backwards. Like this:1985-present: HOUSEKEEPER, Company name, City, State.Duties included: Cleaning rooms/offices, utlizing all forms of cleaning materials and tools. Took charge of seeing all facets of office cleaning was done by (time) every day. Used industrial floor polishers (if you did.) You do NOT need to list the actual things you cleaned or your daily duties.1985-present (intermittently) BABYSITTER, family name(s) you worked for, city and state. All facets of child care, including feeding, cleaning and amusing children ages 3, 5 and 7. Helped older children with homework. Certified in CPR and well-versed in poison-control procedures for child safety (if you were.)Next, you put any awards or certificates you earned, or any training you received to help you do your jobs. (example: Took Safe Babysitting Course offered by local vocational school, received certificate of completion.)Last, you should put references available upon request.Good luck in your job search!

Question : Toys from the 80's?
I grew up in the 80's and had some pretty awsome toys! I remember this one, I dont know if you would consider it a toy, but it was a cartoon picture of a room, lets say a kitchen, and it almost was made out of a linoleum material, but it came with sticker like accessories, such as tables, chairs, refrigerator... but they werent actual stickers, you could use them over and over and rearrange the room, and i have no clue what the name of this was or if they even still make them? any clue?
Answer:

Question : pop up tent trailer question?
I am considering buying a used tent trailer. It will be used by 2 people, my wife and myself, I have never known anyone who has had one. I am searching for information from anyone who has had, or currently has one. What are the pro's and con's? What accessories would you recommend? One of my biggest concerns is mold/mildew; I will be storing it outside under a tree in a fairly shaded area; it will be weather proofed using a plastic tarp. Would I be better off with a refrigerator or simply an ice chest? with or without a space heater, how about a water heater ? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks for your attention.
Answer:
I like the answer Brook E gave. I use a pop up as a hunting camp usually solo sometimes with one of my kids. Not real big and not much elbow room. A little heater will keep the temp nice and toasty- maintain adequite ventilation. Mildew problems wash with mild soap and water and air out. Set it up in the back yard for a few days in the bright warm summer sun.We use ice chests not a refer unit. I would like a small water heater that I can hook up to my generator an hour before shower time for hot water. This old trailer never goes anywhere near real camping parks to use their facilities. When the advertisement says it sleeps six, that means three adults fairly comfortably.

Question : Ok, I'm looking for a new refrigerator, but I want one with a well made interior. Any suggestions?
I'm remodeling soon and I want a great refridgerator. The problem is that most of the fridges that I've looked at have the same problem as the one I already own (Maytag, top freezer), a substandard interior. The refrigeration system works just fine, no problems, but the hardware inside is a joke. I've replaced the pull out deli drawer twice because of cheesy plastic rollers, the fronts on the crisper drawers constantly pull off, and the bottom of the refridgerator has cracks in the plastic liner on the bottom. This is one time I was really happy to have been talked into a service contract! Aren't there any fridges out there anymore that have a metal interior liner and metal inside accessories like the fridges of the 50's and 60's? Even the more expensive brands like the Samsung, Sub-Zero, and some european models seem to have the flimsy plastic insides. I really like the French Door models that are so popular right now, but I'm really hesitant to buy one. Help!
Answer:
I used to sell appliances for sears, I know your frustration as I have heard it many times from other shoppers.Unfortunately, all refrigerators these doors are injected molded in plastic as is a lot easy to produce. Although there are some brands that hold up a little better than others,Top freezers are still and economical option but you need to look at your individual requirements. If you have a family look at the side-by side option , they are the most popular selling refrigerators and good value, as you get the biggest bang for you buck...good capacity, filtered ice/water dispenser and good range of colors and finishes.French doors are quickly gaining popularity and are all the rage.Unfortunaly they are still relatively new in technology in regards to water and ice dispensing through the door and door sealing. Most models are manufactured made from LG components .LG is a fairly good brand but I would still stick with a side/by side until they iron all the bugs and manufactures are confident enough to build them themselves.Go for a USA made model, like whirlpool and Kenmore. Not to be biased. Even though I don’t work for then anymore buy. Hands down they are great. Consumer report thinks so too! GOOD LUCK!
|
Question : How can I make 2 French Door fridges look like one refrigerator?
Is there anywhere that sells accessories to attach to the top (and the bottom too if available) of a left and right opening french door refrigerator so they will look like one unit instead of 2 separate fridges? I've done various internet searches but can't find what I'm looking for. I'd apreciate any input if you know of somewhere. Many thanks
Answer:
Not to my knowledge. Would think cost would almost equal a new, larger unit.
